Singapore-based incubator Aurora Media Holdings signed an agreement to fund “Abracadabra,” a feature film project starring Reza Rahadian at the Far East Film Festival in Udine, Italy, producer Ifa Isfansyah announced on Sunday (30/4).

“Abracadabra,” which will be helmed by “Habibie & Ainun” director Faozan Rizal, is the next production for Fourcolours Films, the Yogyakarta-based film company that produced award-winning drama “Siti.” Previously, this film was selected in South Korea’s Network of Asian Fantastic Films (NAFF) in 2015. On the same year, it also won the Special Recognition Prize at the MPA-APSA Project Pitch Reception in Brisbane, Australia.

Ifa said in his statement that he is happy to be part of the regional co-production.

“Faozan and I are hoping we will be able to carry this project to the next level, both in creativity and commercial aspects,”

Managing partner group, Justin Deimen, said Aurora is looking to support film and creative industry in the Southeast Asian region. other than “Abracadabra,” Aurora also agreed to fund “The Long Walk” by MAttie Do from Laos. Both projects, according to Deimen, are suitable to the company’s model.

“When we are investing in content from around the world, the most important part of our financial DNA is that we prioritize talents and producers from Southeast Asia,” he said.

Both projects are looking to start production by the fourth quarter of 2017.
