Smurfs: The Lost Village, The New Story is Rolling Out Over Belgian Telltale

the lost village

Both Smurfs and Smurfs 2 had been awarded to be on the list of “worst movie” in 2011 and 2013 respectively. Those hideous live-action/CGI hybrids were an ill-advised attempt to modernize the Smurfs, which meant lots of breakdancing and crude humor. It was obvious after the second movie that there was no future for the franchise such as it was, so the decision was made to scrap the format and start anew. And then comes the Smurfs: The Lost Village. The new replaces all the voice casts with of course, some other improvements. But the film still got some critics.

The film starts After Smurfette accidentally breaks an invention by Brainy. She saw a blue creature hidden by a leaf and follows it straight into the forbidden forest. Smurfette lost sight of the creature but she discovered a hat that was dropped by the possible Smurf. However, she along with Clumsy, Brainy, and Hefty were captured by Gargamel. At the castle, Smurfette revealed the hat that lead them to locate the village on a map. Smurfs escaped to the village soon enough and dismissed the map of the lost village they found. Since Smurfette was still curios about the map, she, Brainy, Clumsy, and Hefty sneaked out into the night. They were trying to find the lost village. Gargamel, Azrael, and Monty, throw them into the waterfall. Back to the village, Papa Smurf found the smurf were gone. He set out to find them and make everything right between them.

The smurfs were actually captured by the leaf-covered creature. But, the creatures revealed themselves as female Smurfs. Smurfette, Clumsy, Brainy, and Hefty then taken out to the Smurfy Grove, the village for female Smurfs. There, they were introduced themselves to other villagers like Smurf Willow,  Smurf Storm, Smurf Blossom, Smurf Lily and Smurf Melody. They were initially got warm welcome but later they thought Smurfette as a traitor since she was made by Gargamel. However, Gargamel suddenly appeared and destroyed Smurfy Grove, capturing all the Smurfs, except Smurfette. Gargamel and Azrael put some of the Smurfs into his Smurfilator, extracting their essence. Smurfette appeared and tricked Gargamel. Gargamel’s lair exploded sending Gargamel, Azrael, and Monty into a lake full of piranhas. Smurf Village and Smurfy Grove then united each other and Smurfette finally found her purpose as a real Smurf.

Smurfs: The Lost Village is truly entertaining for Young children. However, the rest audience will be bored watching it. It looks like resetting the film franchise, the movie in common. The film brings back the wonderful joy of the adaption. Not featuring any human is a good choice. But, fully and wonderful CGI alone will not make it good to watch.
